Lok Sabha Election 2019: A minister of the Modi government lost by 119392 votes

Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha  All the Central Ministers, who contested from various seats in Uttar Pradesh, were successful in winning the elections. A total of nine Central Ministers were contesting from the state, eight of whom had won the title of victory. Textile Minister Smriti Irani achieved the biggest victory in terms of morale.He surprised everyone by defeating Congress president Rahul Gandhi by the 55120 votes from Amethi of the Nehru-Gandhi family. Apart from this, Women and Family Welfare Minister Maneka Gandhi defeated Chandrabhadra Singh 'Sonu' from the Sultangpur seat of BSP with 14526 votes. Minister of State for Environment and Forests Dr. Mahesh Sharma retained his hold on this seat by defeating Satyavir of his nearest rival BSP by 336922 votes from Gautam Buddha Nagar seat.

Minister of State for External Affairs General V.K. Singh defeated Suresh Bansal of his closest rival coalition candidate from Ghaziabad by 501500 votes. Union Minister of State for Food Processing, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, defeated her nearest rival coalition candidate Sukhdev Prasad Verma of BSP by 198205 votes from Fatehpur seat. Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri Anupriya Patel defeated Ram Charan Nishad of SP, the alliance candidate from Mirzapur constituency by 232008 as a candidate of BJP's allies - Sonalal. Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Dr. Satyapal Singh, defeated his closest rival, Rallod K. Jayant Chaudhary with 22,502 votes from Baghpat seat. However, Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha was disappointed with the Ghazipur seat. He defeated the Alliance candidate of BSP Afzal Ansari with 119,392 votes.
